‘Left-handed Dhoni’: Ishan Kishan garners attention with helicopter shot at IPL [VIDEO]
Ishan Kishan had a terrific day in the office on Thursday.
The Mumbai Indians (MI) youngster kept the defending champions in fray for the knockouts with a belligerent 21-ball 62 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens.
His innings comprised of six sixes and five fours as the visitors went on to amass 210-6 before bundling out the hosts to 108 in 18.1 overs for a facile 102-run victory.
Kishan channeled his inner Mahendra Singh Dhoni as he unleashed a picture-perfect helicopter shot off chinaman Kuldeep Yadav during the 14th over of the match.
No wonder, the ball sailed over mid-wicket for a maximum, impressing commentators and fans alike.
Former Australia captain Michael Clarke, on air, touted Kishan a “left-handed MS Dhoni”. Fans, too, were quick to heap praise on the wicketkeeper-batsman on Twitter.
“Something with Jarkhand and keeper batsmen and the helicopter shot. Incredible six hitting from Ishan Kishan,” one user wrote.
“Ishan Kishan indeed played a Blinder. Got on with a flurry of Biggies which included a Helicopter Shot & MS wud be pretty pleased with him,” another added.
