WATCH: Belinda Bencic wins St Petersburg event on return to tennis

Playing her first tournament in over five months, former world No. 7 Belinda Bencic won the ITF $100,000 event in St Petersburg, Russia, dropping just one set throughout the indoor hard-court event.
Bencic, who went under the knife to treat her left wrist, pulled off a 6-2 6-3 win over 17-year-old Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska in the final on Saturday.
The Swiss, 20, had gotten off to a dream start at the tournament, roaring her way to a 6-0 6-0 annihilation of Russia’s Anastasia Gasanova.
She then went on to record straight-set wins over Vitalia Diatchenko of Russia and Ysaline Bonaventure of Belgium in the second round and quarter-finals, respectively.
Bencic’s toughest test turned out to be the semi-final contest against Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina. The former, however, recovered well to clinch a 6-1 4-6 6-1 conquest.
