Sporting icons congratulate Garbine Muguruza on Wimbledon triumph
Garbine Muguruza won her maiden Wimbledon crown and her second Grand Slam overall after she pulled off a 7-5 6-0 conquest of American veteran Venus Williams in the women’s singles final on Saturday.
The Spanish sensation, who stunned Venus’ elder sister Serena Williams to for her first major title at 2016 French Open champion, became the first person to defeat both the Williams sisters in the final of a Grand Slam.
And, the sporting icons were quick to react to Muguruza’s stunning triumph at the All England Club.
