Novak Djokovic took the tennis world by surprise last week when he parted ways with his coaching team in a quest to regain lost form.

“I am a hunter and my biggest goal is to find the winning spark on the court again,” said Djokovic, who conceded the No. 1 ranking to Andy Murray in November last year.

His decision meant the Serb would no longer be working with his entire training team including long-time coach Marian Vajda. But, Djokovic already has a new coach. Well, kind of.

The 29-year-old, who is currently competing at the Madrid Masters, where he has already made it to the semi-finals, said that his brother, Marko, is currently coaching him.

“My team is made up of friends and family that takes with me a lot of time, especially my brother, they are there to support me and give me the energy I need,” he said.

“My brother is currently my coach, but he does not like to accept that role. He tells me he is my brother and he is there to support me, I value his advice and observations very much, but he prefers to adopt the role of brother rather than coach. I respect it,” he added.

Marko, 25, is also a tennis player, having peaked to a career-high ranking of No. 629 in July 2013.
