VIDEO: Nick Kyrgios Shows Off His Good Side During Tokyo Win
It goes without saying that Nick Kyrgios is widely considered in the list of tennis’ bad boys. The 22-year-old, however, played a contradictory stroke during his first-round win at Rakuten Open in Tokyo, Japan.
Following his 7-5 6-2 win over American qualifier Ryan Harrison in the tournament opener, the Australian powerhouse flung a bottle of water in the stands to help a spectator who appeared unwell during the 76-minute battle. No wonder, his act drew a round of applause from the crowd.
Meanwhile, Kyrgios, the No. 6 seed, has a tough assignment ahead as he is scheduled to cross the swords with Czech veteran Radek Stepanek for a place in the last-eight stage here.
