VIDEO: Peter Nevill Stuns Dimuth Karunaratne With Cheeky Stumping
Australia wicket-keeper Peter Nevill cheekily stumped out Sri Lanka opener Dimuth Karunaratane during the fourth day’s play of Colombo Test on Monday.
It happened so after the left-handed Karunaratne was beaten by an away-going delivery off off-spinner Nathan Lyon. Although the batsman was comfortably inside the crease, Nevill took the bails off on seeing Karunaratne lifting his back leg casually.
No wonder, the third umpire adjudged Karunaratne out, sending smiles across the Australian camp.
This was some keen observation from Nevill, who continually kept an eye on the batsman’s habit of elevating his left foot at the completion of deliveries. It was just a matter of time before he executed his plans.
Here’s how the wicket unfolded…
Hats off to Peter Nevill for one of the sneakiest stumpings I’ve seen in Test cricket #SLvAUS pic.twitter.com/Dy6vEFMVOZ
