Eugenie Bouchard Keyed Up for Olympic Debut at Rio
Canadian tennis star Eugenie Bouchard is excited to make her Olympic debut at the Rio Games that are scheduled to be held from August 5-21.
The 22-year-old, who is expected to partake across all the three disciplines, said that she’s looking forward to acclimatizing to the atmosphere of the sport’s mega-event.
“Because it’s my first Olympics I want to get the whole experience, get the true experience and see what it’s like,” Bouchard was quoted as saying by ITF Tennis.
She further added that although she’s not expecting a lot from herself, the experience of playing the Fed Cup could help her out.
“The funny thing is I really don’t know what to expect,” she continued. “I’ve played Fed Cup before so I’ve gotten that team spirit a little bit but I feel like the Olympics is Fed Cup times 100.”
Meanwhile, Bouchard is currently tuning up for Wimbledon at the Aegon International in Eastbourne, where she has already made it to the third round of the tournament.
