VIDEO: Alize Cornet Accused of Faking Injury During Her Match Against Tatjana Maria at French Open
The second round match between France’s Alize Cornet and Tatjana Maria of Germany at the French Open saw a dramatic battle erupt between the two on Thursday.
With the duo splitting the first two sets of the match, Cornet started cramping in the decisive. Eventually, the match was interrupted for a moment.

As per the rules, however, a player cannot take medical time-out for cramping. But, Cornet approached her physio, and took time to resume the play.
Visibly disappointed, Maria approached the chair umpire, asking to serve up a time warning to her French counterpart.
I am really sad and i know that it will not change the result! But this story is not done! Rules are here for something right?

The drama didn’t end here!
As soon as Maria crashed one on to the net to concede the match, the duo exchanged words during a delayed handshake, where the German was as heard saying: “you know what you did”.

Later in the press conference, she stated: “It’s not fair play, what she did… she had cramps! She takes physio for her left leg because her right leg was cramping. Afterward she’s telling me I’m not fair play? I don’t know where this girl is, in which world? We all know that she’s maybe sometimes doing a show, but that she’s doing it like this? It’s crazy.” (Quotes via Ben Rothenberg on Twitter).
