In a stunning display of athleticism, French tennis star Gale Monfils hopped over his mixed doubles training partner and Australian tennis player Daria Gavrilova to hit an aerial smash on the practice courts of Rome in the Italian city here.

The 29-year-old Monfils, who is better known for his inimitable shots, pulled the rabbit out of the hat after he sprint towards 1.66m-tall Gavrilova – positioned on the deuce court – and took off over her to attempt an airborne shot.

Meanwhile, Monfils is scheduled to square-off against Brazil’s Thomaz Bellucci in the first round of the Masters tournament here.
