Rafael Nadal Wishes Arch-Rival Roger Federer a Speedy Recovery from Knee Injury
Spanish tennis superstar Rafael Nadal wished nemesis Roger Federer a speedy recovery after the Swiss ace sustained a knee injury last week that compelled his withdrawal from two ATP 500 tournaments – Rotterdam and Dubai.
“I am very sorry for him. It seems like it’s nothing too complicated and won’t keep him out for too long. I hope it all goes well and that he recovers soon,” said Nadal, who is currently in Buenos Aires for this week’s Argentina Open, an ATP 250 event.
Having failed to dodge the upset bug at the last month’s Australian Open 2016 (lost to Fernando Verdasco in first round), the 29-year-old Nadal is persistent on gearing up for the times ahead instead of lamenting the forgettable past.
“I’m preparing myself for a good season,” continued the seasoned southpaw on his future plans. “I didn’t like my defeat in Australia but there’s nothing I can do about that now. I can only look towards the future and continue working hard.”
“I get motivation by concentrating on what I’m doing on a day-to-day basis.”
