VIDEO: Cricketer Anderson Banned for Life after Hostile On-Field Brawl
The sport of cricket is known to be a gentleman’s game. An antagonist approach, however, was put forth by a couple of cricketers who got involved in an ugly on-field spat during the Champions of Champions tournament last week.
It happened so during the match between Cleveland County Cricket Club and the Willow Cuts team, when wicket-keeper Jason Anderson shoved his hand on opponent side’s George O’Brien before things escalated to another level. The latter, then, retorted by swinging his bat which reciprocated Anderson to kick his adversary.
The matter settled down after the players, the on-field umpire, and the bouncers intervened into the players’ scuffle.
The Club, later, announced a life ban on Anderson from all the formats of the game, and cut all the ties with the 36-year-old veteran.
