MS Dhoni Stars as Legendary Cricketers Bat for Charity
In a charity Twenty20 match between ‘Help for Heroes XI (HFH)’ and ‘Rest of the World XI (ROW)’ that saw many legendary players partake at The Oval in London, India’s limited-overs captain MS Dhoni shone with the bat as his unbeaten knock garnered him the Man of the Match award.
Earlier, the Brendon McCullum-led ROW that comprised the likes of Matthew Hayden and Mahela Jayawardene put up a healthy 158-6 in their quota of 20 overs.
In response, the HFH – encompassing some big names including Virender Sehwag, Andrew Strauss, Herchelle Gibbs, and Damien Martin – chased down the target with three balls to spare, thanks to a 22-ball 38 from Dhoni.
As per the quotes by Cricbuzz, Surrey Chief Executive Richard Gould revealed that the exhibition encounter, which was played in front of 20,000 spectators on Thursday, raised around $300,000 for a cause.
