India’s Karn Sharma Ruled Out of Zimbabwe Tour
Team India suffered an early setback after leg-spinner Karn Sharma was ruled out of the Zimbabwe tour due to a fracture in his left middle finger.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India, however, didn’t name any replacement, implying that the visiting team moves on with a revised 14-man squad.
Lamenting the episode, India’s stand-in captain Ajinkya Rahane said that Karn’s pulling out was “unfortunate” and that this won’t make his task of short-listing the playing XI easier.
The 27-year-old Karn – a handy lower-order batsman too – has represented India in 2 One-Day Internationals (ODI) in his career so far, but is yet to pull off his maiden wicket.
India are scheduled to depart for Zimbabwe to cross the swords in a short series that comprises of 3 ODIs and 2 Twenty20 Internationals. The series is scheduled to kick-off from July 10 in Harare.
