Novak Djokovic Outclasses Andy Murray for 5th Australian Open Crown
World No.1 Novak Djokovic continued his unbeaten streak in the Australian Open finals by pulling off his fifth crown at the prestigious tournament Down Under. The Serb overcame a breathtaking couple of sets to beat 6th seed Andy Murray in the title-clash on Sunday.
The duo went head to head in the first two sets. A service break followed the other, and so was the case with a service hold. Eventually, what came in was the battle of nerves in the tie-breaker. Even that couldn’t differentiate between the two, as both Djokovic and Murray split the first two sets via tie-breaker.
But what followed thereafter, was a stereotypical Djokovic triumph, who succeeded in keeping the upset bug at bay, eventually winning 7-6 6-7 6-3 6-0 in the summit clash that lasted for just under four hours.
Following his triumph, Djokovic will retain his top spot in the Association of Tennis Professionals rankings, while Murray is also poised to make his way back to the top 4 of the .
