Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva returned to action last night, as he looked to bounce back from two crushing losses in 2013. Nick Diaz was his opponent and they headlined UFC 183 in Las Vegas, Nevada last night (Saturday January 31st, 2015). The fight was odd, to say the least.

Nick Diaz taunted like a crazy person, and “The Spider” just wanted to get the job done. Diaz even laid down on the floor in the first round, as well as turned his back on Silva with his hands down. Whether Diaz was hoping to catch Silva coming in, or he was just frustrated, the game plan didn’t work.

The ex-champ made easy work of the Stockton bad boy, beating him 50-45 50-45 49-46 on the judge’s scorecards after five rounds. What’s next for both UFC 183 headliners? Well Diaz is now on a three fight losing skid, and should probably call it quits after such a poor show. For Silva, perhaps a fight with the recently victorious Gegard Mousasi would make sense?
