Eugenie Bouchard Parts Ways with Nick Saviano
World No. 7 Eugenie Bouchard has ended her coaching relationship with Nick Saviano, according to a statement released by the latter’s website.
The duo had worked ever since Bouchard was a 12-year-old girl, and went on to join hands for 8 long years.
“Genie and I have decided that it is best for us to end our player-coach relationship and to move in different directions for 2015,” said Saviano.
“Helping Genie grow from an ambitious 12-year-old to No. 5 in the world has been an exciting journey,” he added of Bouchard, who had peaked to career-best of number 5 in the world rankings earlier this year.
“This past year traveling with Genie to all of the majors has been a wonderful experience with memories I will cherish for a lifetime.
“I have no doubt that Genie will accomplish great things. I wish her all the best.”
Bouchard’s biggest achievements under Saviano came when the former reached the semifinals of the Australian Open 2014 and a consistent performance saw her qualify for the year-ending tournament in Singapore.
