Bernard Hopkins was beaten by Sergey Kovalev, in a convincing and one sided unanimous decision. “The Alien” looked to break multiple world records against “Krusher”, but the younger and hungrier Russian was simply too good on fight night.

Who knows what’s next for the ageing Hopkins, as he is yet to rule out a return to professional boxing, but big things are clearly ahead for Kovalev. “Krusher” has put himself ahead of the pack at light-heavyweight, and unifying three of the four major alphabet titles puts a huge target on his back.
