This week, the NFL has had arguably its worst week ever in the wake of former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice’s domestic abuse scandal and Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson’s indictment on child abuse charges this Friday (September 12, 2014).

The Vikings were quick to deactivate Peterson for their Week 2 game against the New England Patriots. Yesterday Peterson turned himself in to the Montgomery County, Texas Sheriff’s Department and was released on bond.

And with the NFL under a more-than-intense amount of scrutiny for their handling of the Rice scandal, the league will most likely have no other choice but to make an example out of Peterson.

Rice was initially suspended for a mere two games, leading the NFL to retool their policy on domestic violence to include a mandatory six game suspension for first time offenders.

Today, FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer announced that Peterson’s case will be handled under the new domestic violence policy, not under the previously all-encompassing personal conduct policy.
