Bills WR Sammy Watkins Fully Participates In Practice Today
The Buffalo Bills got a big scare when their prized rookie wide receiver Sammy Watkins was forced out of the preseason with a rib injury before he even played his first NFL game.
After all, the team traded up in May’s draft to select the former Clemson star, and it wasn’t cheap. He’s supposed to a be a game changer for a team that recently signed longtime veteran Kyle Orton to a two-year contract to put a little pressure on second year starter E.J. Manuel.
The team got some good news today (Wed., September 3, 2014) when Watkins returned to practice fully (via Mike Rodak on Twitter):

Buffalo will desperately need their No. 1 overall pick if they want to compete in the AFC East, which has long been ruled by the New England Patriots. The Bills run the ball more than any other team in the league, and they have question marks at quarterback, but with Watkins at their disposal, they’re going to have to open up their playbook if they want to utilize Watkins’ considerable talent.
Today’s NFL is more focused on passing than ever, and the Bills simply wont be able to make the playoffs playing it safe. With a healthy Watkins intact, can they put together a winning season in 2014?
