Karen Khachanov is going through the best time of his life, both on and off the court.

The Russian tennis star made his maiden quarterfinals of a Grand Slam after pulling off a 7-5 6-3 3-6 6-3 win over Juan Martin del Potro of Argentina at the French Open on Monday.

And soon after the big win, Khachanov announced he is set to become a father soon.

The 23-year-old has been married to Veronika Shkliaeva since April 2016. And his lady love looked happy, stroking her bump while he spoke at the end of the match.

“I would say it was my best match, the best result result for me: first quarter-finals of a Grand Slam. The atmosphere was really good. Thank you guys for supporting me,” he reflected.

“Thanks for supporting me all the time. Yeah, we’re expecting a baby. Thanks to my whole team for being by my side… for their help, for all their effort. And yeah, let’s go for more.”

Khachanov, who’s currently enjoying a career-best ranking of No. 11 in the ATP rankings, will look to continue his dream run when he takes on Austrian 4th seed Dominic Thiem on Wednesday.
