Week 2 Highlights: New England Patriots Destroy Minnesota Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings played their first game without star running back Adrian Peterson today (Sun., September 14, 2014) when the New England Patriots came to town.
The Vikings made it seem like they didn’t need Peterson all that much at first, scoring on a 25-yard touchdown pass to backup running back Matt Asiata.
However, Tom Brady and the Patriots quickly struck back, with Brady hitting wide receiver Julian Edelman for a nine-yard score (courtesy of Vine):
All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis also got his first interception as a Patriot (Vine):
New England also turned the tables on a late Minnesota drive, blocking a field goal attempt by Blair Walsh to score a touchdown from defensive end Chandler Jones (Vine):
New England won the game 30-7 after picking off Cassel four times, perhaps signifying the beginning of the teddy Bridgewater era.
