NFL Week 9 Fantasy Rankings – Running Backs
With a whopping six teams on a bye in Week 9, the already top-heavy position of running back lost one of its top performers. Chicago Bear Matt Forte, who is on pace for an absurd 116 catches this year, will be out this week as his reeling Bears try to refocus their strategy in an effort to save their 2014 season.
Top-ranked back DeMarco Murray will seek to extend his record-setting streak of 100-yard games when he faces the Arizona Cardinals this Sunday, but there’s a different kind of statistic that Murray needs to cut down on.
He’s been fumbling the ball at a record pace as well, and that includes a crucial fumble against Washington this Monday that may have cost the Cowboys the win.
Arizona also has a tiff run defense, knocking Murray out of the top spot of the Week 9 fantasy rankings-
In his place sits Arian Foster, who has also been scoring points at a breakneck pace. He’ll have an easier match-up than Murray when the Philadelphia Eagles come to Houston in Week 9.
After a torrid start to the year, Seattle Seahawks star Marshawn Lynch has been relatively nonexistent the past two weeks. “Beast Mode” should get back on track against the winless Oakland Raiders on Sunday.
Jamaal Charles has a tough match-up against the New York Jets this weekend, but he’s also at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City and should be able to pick up several yards through the air.
Gaining over 100 all-purpose yards in every game thus far, Pittsburgh Steeler Le’Veon Bell rounds out the Top Five. With Bengals starter Giovani Bernard listed as doubtful for Week 9 with a hip pointer, backup Jeremy Hill gets a massive bump for this week’s cake match-up against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
