NFL Week 8: Ravens vs Bengals Highlights
With a record of 5-2, the AFC North-leading Baltimore Ravens traveled into Cincinnati today (Sun., October 26, 2014) to take on the suddenly skidding Bengals.
Cincinnati had lost two out of their past three games after starting the season 3-0. However, they did own a Week 1 win over Baltimore in their home stadium.
It promised to be a hard-fought, close affair, and it did not fail to deliver.
The scoring got started by Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton, who scored on this 1-yard rushing touchdown (courtesy of Vine):
After two Baltimore field goals, the Bengals went up 14-6 with a another 1-yard rushing score by Giovani Bernard (Vine):
Bernard would later leave the game with a hip injury.
The Bengals kept the pressure on by adding a field goal, going up 17-6. The Ravens fought back with a 10yard touchdown run by rookie running back Lorenzo Taliaferro (Vine):
After another Cincinnati field goal, Taliaferro rushed in his second touchdown of the game, this time from 8 yards out (Vine):
The Ravens kicked a field goal and were up 24-20, but Dalton came through with an impressive 80-yard drive capped off with another 1-yard run from Dalton, giving the Bengals an incredible lead with only seconds left on the clock.
The Ravens seemingly took the lead back with a long scoring pass from Joe Flacco to Steve Smith Sr., but offensive pass interference was called, ending this back-and-forth battle in the Bengals’ favor.
