NFL Week 4: Patriots vs Chiefs Highlights
Tonight (Mon., September 29, 2014) the New England Patriots traveled into the deafening Arrowhead Stadium to take on the Kansas City Chiefs.
The perennial Super Bowl contender Patriots had a ton of uncertainties as the youngest team in the NFL. They were suffering on offense with legendary quarterback Tom Brady struggling to find a rhythm.
The Chiefs, inn the other hand, were set to benefit from the return of star running back Jamaal Charles. And benefit they did, as Charles got the scoring started early with this 2-yard touchdown (courtesy of Vine):
Charles added a short receiving score, and then later added a third touchdown, his second touchdown reception of the night (Vine):
The Patriots were getting beat down 24-0 in the second half, but they finally scored on this long pass from Brady to wide receiver Brandon LaFell (Vine):
However, a comeback was not meant to be, as the Chiefs added this 2-yard score emerging tight end Travis Kelce to go up by an alarming margin of 34-7 (Vine):
Brady was then laid out after he threw this ugly interception that was returned for a touchdown to put the Patriots down 41-7 (Vine):
Brady was benched in favor of rookie quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who threw his first NFL touchdown to tight end Rob Gronkowski (Vine):
But it was far from enough, as the Chiefs blew out the Patriots by a final score of 41-14.
