In the dead rubber match of FIFA Confederations Cup we had two former World Cup winners Brazil and Italy took on each other, going into the match they had already qualified for the Semifinals of the Fifa showpiece event, making it a dead rubber game. Both teams wanted to try a few things before they play the semifinal and Italy made a couple of changes with Alberto Aquilani playing instead of Andrea Pirlo while Brazil gave a chance to Fred.

Brazil 1-0 Italy [ Dante ] Brazil took the lead just before the halftime as Bayern Munich defender Dante scored to put Brazil ahead going into the break.

Italy 1-1 Brazil [ Giaccherini ] Italians bite back with a goal coming just after the halftime and they looked the better side at that point.

Brazil 2-1 Italy [ Neymar ] Brazil again took the lead and this time from a freekick as hotshot Neymar kept his goal scoring run and scored his third of the event. Barcelona will be happy to see his game at the confed cup so far.

Brazil 3-1 Italy [ Fred ] A goal against the run of play, as Marcelo put a beatuful lofted ball through the Italian defence and Fred was on hand to smash the ball home after some good control of the ball.

Brazil 3-0 Italy [ Chiellini ] Italian again got 1 back with a goal coming from a corner kick, ball fell nicely to Chiellini in the box who side footed in the back of the net to keep Italy in the game.
