Marcos Maidana Knocks Out Floyd Mayweather’s Tooth?

The above video showing Marcos Maidana clocking Floyd Mayweather Jr, with a clean right hand has been spreading across the internet. Take a close look at it. Did Maidana knock out Floyd Mayweather’s tooth?

Sot the rematch between Mayweather and Maidana might have been less than entertaining, but it proved a few points; firstly, Mayweather is the best fighter around 20 years after he began as a pro, which says a whole lot about his abilities. Secondly, the rematch probably never should have happened.

At this late stage in his career, with only two more fights on the horizon, the Mayweather team should’ve looked at adding three more names to their pugilist’s record, as opposed to “chino” for the second time. Although the first fight was competitive, it wasn’t close in my opinion. “Money” did more than enough to win the fight, and I feel like his macho got the better of him in accepting the challenge of a rematch.

Whatever the case, that fight is in the past now, but the above video is certainly interesting. The end of a great round three for Maidana was capped off with a big counter right hand, and it left Mayweather visibly wobbled. The bell certainly saved his bacon, and “Money” needed a couple of seconds to compose himself.

It looks as though the pound for pound king may have lost a tooth in that moment though, as the highlighted part of the video clip suggests…..interesting, no?

Whatever the case, Mayweather improves to 47-0 with the unanimous decision win, and says he will retire in September 2015, teeth or no teeth.
