Manny Pacquiao returned to action last night (November 22nd, 2014) and looked to be back on form against Chris Algieri. Although the shorter man, and at a disadvantage with reach, “Pac Man” completely shut down the “King Of New York”. The end result was a lopsided unanimous decision after 12 rounds for Pacquiao.

For Algieri (20-1) it’s time to go back to the drawing board. It should be said that Agieri took on one of the greatest boxers of our era, and probably too early on in his budding career. He was beaten to the punch, and essentially mauled throughout the later rounds in this fight. Pacquiao’s hand speed once again dazzling a bewildered opponent.

For Pacquiao (57-5-2) he should be looking at a legacy-defining bout next. Frustration has built over the years with talk of a super fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr., and now is really the last chance to make the bout happen. Each man probably has two top-tier performances left before either the inevitable decline, or retirement sets in.
