Guillermo Rigondeaux vs Hisashi Amagasa fight video and 11th round finish…..
WBO and WBA super bantamweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux returned to action late on New Years Eve 2014, as he battled Hisashi Amagasa in Osaka, Japan. The heavy favorite Rigondeaux was actually in big trouble a few times.
His opponent, Hisashi Amagasa, had a record of 28-4-2 (19 knockouts) and he entered as the No.11 featherweight, he suffered his last defeat in 2010 when he faced Ryol Li Lee, since then he has won 13 consecutive fights, the last against Ryo Takenaka. Rigondeaux vs Amagasa is valid for the WBO World super bantamweight title, and was the first world title shot for Amagasa.
Amagasa managed to drop the undefeated champion twice in the seventh round with hard punches. From round eight onwards though, it was the champion’s fight. The two-time Cuban Olympic gold medalist started to rock Amagasa with serious power shots in quick succession.
Amagasa, for his part, showed some serious heart, but could not make it out of the championship rounds. Rigondeaux was too powerful and fast, and had compiled a convincing lead.
