Freddie Roach Talks Mayweather vs Pacquiao, Canelo vs Cotto
The world of boxing stands to have to mouth-watering showdowns happen this Summer. All time greats Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather have danced around the idea of fighting for years now. As negotiations are finally said to be progressing, we live in hope of Mayweather vs Pacquiao in 2015.
With both men in form at the moment, and arguably close to retirement, the time is now for Mayweather vs Pacquiao. With “Money” looking to retire after 2015, and tend to his private jet, negotiations have obviously started to take priority.
Another big fight, said to be aimed for May 2015, is Saul “Cinnamon” Alvarez and Miguel Cotto. Canelo vs Cotto has been spoken about for the last six months or so, and would pit two of the lighter divisions most popular brawlers against each other. Cotto is a four-weight champion, the only boxer of Puerto Rican descent to achieve this great record.
Alvarez is the former WBA & WBC light middleweight champion, and is signed to Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions. “Canelo” has gone on two win two straight fights since his decision loss to Floyd Mayweather, most recently splitting Erislandy Lara in Las Vegas.
