Former Heavyweight Champion David Haye Plans 2015 Boxing Return
David Haye boxing return? Ex champion looking to come back in 2015…..
Former world heavyweight boxing champion David Haye is eyeing a 2015 return to action. The ex-WBA kingpin has been out for over a year with a shoulder injury. Having captured the world championship for Nikolai Valuev in 2009, many believed Haye would go on to be a future great.
Wladimir Klitschko soon snatched the belt from “The Hayemaker”, and he retired after beating Dereck Chisora in 2012. A shoulder injury required surgery, and it was thought Haye would never return. According to the man himself, there will be a David Haye return in 2015:
“The shoulder is fixed. I’m punching harder than before because of the rehab,” Haye said to theDailystar.co.uk. “Trust me, 2015 is the return of ‘The Hayemaker’. I will be starting from the bottom. I’m not even in the rankings after being out for over a year, so I want to work my way up the rankings.”
Who will be the one to meet Haye in his return? Former light-heavyweight champion Antonio Tarver wants that fight:
“I will knock Haye out cold. He keeps insisting that he’s the second-biggest name in the heavy- weight division. I need him to be my set-up guy to get Klitschko.
“Haye has one-punch knock- out ability. Once I beat him, though, I want Klitschko. I will even come to England to fight Haye.
“I’m calling out Haye to get Klitschko. He talks a lot, but the boxing world will see if Haye’s serious about fighting again. Tarver v Haye would be a huge fight in London.”
