WATCH: Usain Bolt Sprints His Way to 200 Meter Gold at Rio Olympics
Olympic and world record-holder Usain Bolt ran his way to a sprint double as he added the 200 meter gold to his 100 meter triumph at the Rio Olympics.
The 29-year-old was the clear favorite to bag the top honors, given that two of his biggest rivals – Justin Gatlin of USA and fellow Jamaican Yohan Blake – had failed to qualify for the finals. And, he did live to up his billing by clocking 19.78 to stand atop the coveted podium.
Bolt took a massive lead on the turn but couldn’t quite accelerate further once the track straightened up. His effort however was enough to keep his golden streak alive.

Canada’s Andre De Grasse continued his dream run at the ongoing Games by finish at 20.02 to take the silver medal. The 21-year-old had earlier clinched the bronze in 100 meter dash. France’s Christophe Lemaitre clocked 20.12 to take the bronze.
Meanwhile, Bolt will look to pull off a hat-trick of gold medals when he returns on track for the 4×100 meter relay event on Friday.
