Riding on their impressive performances last week, Monica Puig and Caroline Wozniacki jumped six places apiece in the latest WTA rankings unveiled on Monday.

While Wozniacki pulled off her maiden title of the season in Tokyo that saw her rise to No. 22, Puig’s quarter-final appearance was enough to bolster her ranking to No. 27.

Besides, 18-year-old Naomi Osaka, who finished as the runner-up in Tokyo, romped up 19 places to attain her career-best position of No. 47.

Also worth mentioning is Lesya Tsurenko’s rise to No. 53 in the world. She was ranked as low as No. 80 before clinching the crown in Guangzhou recently.

Meanwhile, Belinda Bencic turned out to be the biggest loser in the list after she lost to Wozniacki in the tournament opener. Having failed to defend her runner-up finish from last year, Bencic dropped 14 odd places to be ranked No. 40 in the world.

Angelique Kerber retained her No. 1 ranking, with Serena Williams coming second.
