WATCH: Maria Sharapova enjoys morning hike as comeback date is announced
Maria Sharapova is sure putting in the hard yards ahead of making her comeback to the tour.
The five-time Grand Slam champion hasn’t played since pulling out of the St. Petersburg Open due to a shoulder injury.
In a good news for her fans though, her recovery appeared to be on track when she posted a video of herself on Instagram undergoing a grueling workout session recently.
And now, Sharapova headed out for a morning hike before posting a snap of herself on the photo-sharing platform.
“Active recovery day = morning hike,” she wrote the caption to her 3.5 million followers from mountain top.
Meanwhile, Sharapova has received a wildcard for the main draw of WTA event in Stuttgart that gets under way on April 22, it was announced.
Sharapova, who has won the tournament thrice between 2012-2014, will compete alongside ex-winners like Karolina Pliskova, Angelique Kerber Julia Georges and Laura Siegemund.
