Tennis players seem to be enjoying their time in the Portuguese city of Estoril.

Just a day after Kyle Edmund and Joao Sousa enjoyed a session of surfing, Daniil Medvedev and Leonardo Mayer took some time off to try their hands at car racing as they enjoyed the company of professional racer Rafael Lobato.

Speeding up, drifting and pulling over all of a sudden – they tried their hands at everything.

“It’s incredible! You realize how hard it is to drive these kind of cars. The drivers go really fast and that’s amazing,” Mayer said was quoted as saying.

“You feel a bit scared because of the chance of crashing. But it is impossible, because the drivers are really good… the control was incredible.”

Medvedev, too, concurred as he labeled the experience scary. “He was drifting, it was turning. I was so scared but it was so cool. It was so loud in the car and the vibrations inside the car are like crazy.”

Meanwhile, the duo will look to get back to business when they begin their respective campaigns.

While Medvedev, the No. 8 seed, is scheduled to take on local hope Joao Sousa, 7th seed Mayer will take on Nicolas Jarry in the first round.
