Canadian tennis star Milos Raonic has had some tough results of late.

After losing to Stan Wawrinka in the second round of the Rotterdam Open earlier this month, Raonic crashed out in the first round of the ATP 500 Dubai Duty Free Championships.

He lost 6-4 5-7 6-4 to Jan-Lennard Struff of Germany on Monday.

And while nothing can be taken away from Struff, Raonic had himself to blame for the defeat as well.

The former world No. 3 had a chance to dig his way back but he committed a costly error on match-point as his overhead smash crashed straight on to the net.

And with it, crashed his hopes of advancing at the tournament.

Meanwhile, Raonic will look to make amends before competing at the next week’s Indian Wells Masters.

As for Struff, he is scheduled to face Marton Fucsovics of Hungary in the second round on Wednesday.
