Tennis Star Stan Wawrinka Reveals ‘Main Goal’ For the Rest of 2016 Season
World No. 4 Stan Wawrinka has revealed that his ‘main goal’ for the rest of the 2016 season is to qualify for the ATP World Tour Finals.
The Swiss superstar, a winner of two Grand Slam titles, currently sits at the 7th position in the run-up to the tournament that features only the best eight performers of the season.
“I really want to qualify for London. That’s my main goal for the rest of the season. I have to stay inside the top eight,” The Local quoted Wawrinka, who has amassed 2730 points this year.
The 31-year-old has had a decent season so far. His 32-11 record comprises of three titles in Chennai, Dubai and Geneva.
Currently, World No. 1 Novak Djokovic and No. 2 Andy Murray are the only players to have confirmed their berth for the year-ending tournament, which is scheduled to be held from November 14-20 at the O2 Arena in London.
