There goes a tradition in Wimbledon that winners of singles events dance together at the during the Champions’ Dinner.

This year’s champions, Novak Djokovic and Simona Halep, didn’t get to shake a leg though. The reason? Well, it’s bizarre.

Halep, who defeated US veteran Serena Williams in the final, says Djokovic didn’t invite her to dance with him as he was too tired after having to save championship points against Roger Federer in an epic final that lasted almost five hours.

“I did not dance with Nole because he did not invite me,” the Romanian was quoted as saying by Bolamarela. “He was very tired.”

Not that she was keyed up to put her dancing shoes on. “I was very nervous about this moment and I ended up being more relaxed to know that it would not happen. But I was ready in case it happened.”

Last year though, Djokovic had showed off his dancing moves as he was joined by the women’s champion Angelique Kerber.

Does she feel offended? Not really. “If the boy will ask me, I have to go. I’m really stressed. But I hope I’m going to be okay. I’m going to be fine and I will enjoy the night.”
