Roger Federer Quashes Rumors of Reunion with Stefan Edberg
Roger Federer has dismissed rumors of reunion with former coach Stefan Edberg. The duo had worked together for two years before parting ways in December last year.
The reports of a potential reunion started to circulate after Edberg was spotted in Federer’s box during the 17-time Grand Slam champion’s fourth round match against American Steve Johnson at the Wimbledon Championships on Monday.
However, Federer, who works with Severin Luthi and Ivan Ljubicic, dismissed rumors of a second stint with Edberg. “Severin and Ivan remain my coaches,” the 34-year-old was quoted as saying by puntodebreak.com.
Meanwhile, Federer will look to continue his quest for a record eighth title at the All England Club when he takes on Marin Cilic of Croatia in the quarter-finals on Wednesday.
