Poland Edge Great Britain 2-1 at Hopman Cup
Poland recorded its second consecutive triumph at the ongoing Hopman Cup 2015 in Perth by overcoming Great Britain 2-1 on Wednesday.
Agnieszka Radwanksa got an early lead for Poland after making short work of Heather Watson 6-3, 6-1 in the women’s singles encounter.
Later, in the men’s rubber, Andy Murray exacted sweet revenge by claiming a 6-2, 6-4 conquest of lanky Pole, Jerzy Janowicz.
In the mixed doubles decider, Radwanska and Janowicz paired up to topple Watson and Murray 6-4, 6-4, and eventually sealed the tie, 2-1.
Earlier, the Poles had defeated Australia in their first match of the tournament.
Next up, Poland meet France, in what would be a repeat of last year’s title-clash, where the latter team emerged victorious.
