The inaugural edition of the Laver Cup may have ended last month, but the tournament fever doesn’t seem to be over yet.
Members of Team Europe – one of the two teams in the event (the other being Team World) – on Tuesday reunited in Shanghai, where the players are competing at this week’s ATP Masters event.
19-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer took to his official Twitter handle to share a group photo alongside rest of his Laver Cup teammates – Rafael Nadal, Marin Cilic, Alexander Zverev, Dominic Thiem, and non-playing captain Bjorn Borg.
The only absentee from the team was Tomas Berdych, who gave the Shanghai Masters a miss due to injury.
Federer, however, had a seat reserved for him. “We all missed @LaverCup so much that we had to have a reunion in Shanghai,” the Swiss maestro wrote. “@tomasberdych we saved you a seat!”
And they are already preparing for the second edition next year. “We’re already scheming against #TeamWorld for @lavercup in Chicago,” Federer added.
