Monte Carlo Results – Novak Djokovic, David Ferrer Ease into 3rd Round
World No. 1 Novak Djokovic got off to a triumphant start at the ATP Monte Carlo Masters in Monaco. Having received bye in the first round of the tournament, the Serb clinched his second consecutive win over Spain’s Albert Ramos-Vinolas this year after pulling off a 6-1 6-4 conquest on Tuesday.
5th seed David Ferrer also had an unfussy day in the office. The Spaniard won the first set 6-2 and was leading 2-0 in the second, before his second-round opponent Victor Estrella Burgos pulled out of the match in the second set due to shoulder niggle.
