Maria Sharapova Lashes Out at Serena Williams’ Coach Patrick Mouratoglou after Wimbledon Loss

A couple of years back, Serena Williams touted Maria Sharapova’s boyfriend Grigor Dimitrov as ‘the guy with black heart’ which perceptibly didn’t go down well with the Russian. She, then, obliquely slammed Williams to look into her personal life (concerning her alleged relationship with coach Patrick Mouratoglou). And the rift seems to be never-ending!

Ahead of the duo’s meeting in the semi-finals of the ongoing Wimbledon Championships, Mouratoglou sparked the conflict ablaze after claiming that there is not much of a rivalry between the two players, and that Victoria Azarenka is a ‘better’ player than Sharapova although Serena is even better.

On Thursday, Sharapova was handed over a 6-2 6-4 defeat from Williams, following which she was asked to opine on Mouratoglou’s comments. “I don’t think you’re ever going to hear nice words from him about me,” the 28-year-old was quoted as saying by BT Sport.

When asked to elaborate the reason, she added: “I don’t expect that and I’m sure you don’t either. I’m sure you know. You don’t need to ask me that.”
