Top seeds Maria Sharapova and Ana Ivanovic sealed their respective berths in the semifinals of the Brisbane International 2015 on Thursday.

While top-seeded Sharapova had an ordinary day in the office, defeating Carla Suarez Navarro 6-1, 6-3; second-seeded Ivanovic overcame a stiff fight from Kaia Kanepi 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 in the quarterfinals.

“I thought I did a good job of that today,” Sharapova was quoted as saying by WTA Tennis. “Maybe I made a little too many unforced errors in the beginning, but I finished strong.”
