The Marathon Duo! Novak Djokovic Edges Stanislas Wawrinka in 5 Sets to Reach Australian Open Final
World No.1 Novak Djokovic avenged his last year’s quarterfinal loss to Stanislas Wawrinka with a grueling five-set win over the Swiss ace in the semifinal of the Australia Open 2015 on Friday.
The top-seeded Serb prevailed 7-6 3-6 6-4 4-6 6-0 in the blockbuster encounter that went on for 3 hours and 30 minutes at the infamous Rod Laver Arena.
“I can say I’m glad, of course I’m happy and satisfied to go through,” a relieved Djokovic was quoted as saying by AusOpen.com. “I’m proud of the fighting spirit that I had. But the level of performance was not where I wanted it to be.”
Djokovic will be looking to claim his 5th crown Down Under, when he crosses the swords with Great Britain’s Andy Murray in the Sunday’s title-clash.
So, whom are you rooting for: the Serbinator or Muzza?
