Lleyton Hewitt Practices With Ashleigh Barty Just Days After Accepting Wimbledon Wildcard
Just days after announcing his comeback from retirement, Australian Lleyton Hewitt hit the indoor practice court along with compatriot Ashleigh Barty, as he took it to Twitter to share a post-practice photo of the duo.
Hewitt, who decided to call a time on his career following the Davis Cup this year, has accepted a wildcard entry for the doubles event at Wimbledon, where he will join forces with countryman Jordan Thompson.
Barty, on the other hand, has made a successful return to tennis after switching to cricket for about 18 months. The 20-year-old holds an impressive 11-2 record this season, having gone all the way from the qualifiers to make the semis and quarters in the two events she has played so far.
Moving on, Barty will look to make a hat-trick of qualifying success when she takes on Jia-Jing Lu of China in the first round of Wimbledon qualifying on Tuesday.
Hit a few with @ashbar96 indoors today. She’s had a great start to her comeback. All the best @Wimbledon #Aussies pic.twitter.com/W51DXAgM9a
