Heather Watson Rushes into Hobart International Final
Top British female tennis player, Heather Watson, rode on her sublime form to storm into the finals of the WTA Hobart International 2015 Down Under.
49th-ranked Watson needed around two hours to pull off a 6-3 7-5 victory over 8th-seeded American Alison Riske in the semifinal encounter on Friday.
“I’m very happy to finally get through today – it was tough,” 22-year-old Watson was quoted as per saying by WTA Tennis afterwards.
Up next, Watson is slated to cross the swords with another American journeywoman in 84th-ranked Madison Bringle, who defeated Japan’s Kurumi Nara 6-4 1-6 6-3 in the last-four stage.
