ATP Rankings: Rafael Nadal on a Rise Again
A substandard outing this season meant that Rafael Nadal’s ranking cascades to No. 10 in the world. However, the Spanish ace showed glimpses of regaining his form after pulling off the last week’s Bet-At-Home Open in Hamburg.
By the virtue of this triumph, Nadal earned 250 ranking points that saw him ascend a place to No. 9 in the latest men’s singles rankings released by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) on Monday.
The Spaniard surpassed Milos Raonic of Canada to rise a ladder. He, now, closely follows eighth-ranked Croat Marin Cilic by 85 points.
The other notable changes in the list include – Hamburg runner-up Fabio Fognini rising five spots to No. 27, and Thomaz Bellucci soaring eight places to No. 31.
Besides, Atlanta winner John Isner mounted a position to No. 18, while Gstaad champion Dominic Thiem rose three places to No. 21.
Serbia’s Novak Djokovic continues to dominate the list, as Swiss ace Roger Federer and Great Britain’s Andy Murray cling on to the second and third rank respectively.
