Former Wimbledon champion Marion Bartoli will be coming out of retirement to play the WTA Monterrey Open in Mexico, scheduled to be held from April 2-8.

This will be the 33-year-old’s first tournament since 2013 – the year in which she won her maiden Grand Slam title (Wimbledon).

Notably, Bartoli said she feared for her life due to an unknown virus that saw her loose around 20 pounds in a quick time.

Things, however, started to change for good as the Frenchwoman announced in 2017 that she’s plotting her return.

And now, Bartoli has accepted a wildcard into the main draw of Monterrey. She will be competing alongside the likes of Garbine Muguruza, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, Magdalena Rybarikova, and Timea Babos among the others.
