Fan Arressted For Intruding Court to Take Selfie With Kateryna Bondarenko at US Open
A spectator was arrested at the US Open on Wednesday after he jumped over a wall to take a photograph with Ukrainian tennis player Kateryna Bondarenko, reports ESPN.
Bondarenko, who clinched a thrilling 5-7 7-6 7-5 conquest of China’s Saisai Zheng in the second-round encounter, was surprised to see a fan rush towards her for a selfie. Even as she posed nonchalantly, a couple of security guards hurried in to take the fan out of Court 13.
He was later handcuffed and arrested, before being imposed a 10-year ban from the event, the report added.
This is not the first case of such an incident. Earlier, during the 2015 French Open, Roger Federer was left shell-shocked after a fan breached security to pose for the shutterbug.
No wonder, the security officials have got something to ponder upon!
