Austrian Tennis Star Dominic Thiem Receives Wildcard For China Open
World No. 10 Dominic Thiem has received a wildcard for the next month’s China Open 2016. The ATP 500 event is scheduled to be held from October 3-9 at the National Tennis Centre in Beijing.
Thiem’s inclusions adds on to the star-studded draw that comprises some of the biggest names in the circuit including World No. 1 Novak Djokovic, No. 2 Andy Murray, No. 5 Rafael Nadal, No. 6 Milos Raonic, No. 11 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, and No.13 David Ferrer among the others.
Although the 23-year-old has been nursing a right knee injury currently that forced him to pull out of the ongoing US Open, he is expected to get back in shape well in time.
With a decent record of 54-17 in 2016 alone, Thiem has won four titles so far this season in Buenos Aires, Acapulco, Nice and Stuttgart.
